Camping is a great theme to explore and sing about during preschool music classes! Here is a favorite song of ours that is a very popular song at many summer youth camps across the United States. It’s great for all ages!
You can use this song for a camping theme music class, a summer-themed class, or any time of the year.
Grey Squirrel can be a simple sing-along song or you can incorporate movement into it as well. If you have some colored scarves, let each student hold a scarf and swish it around like a squirrel tail as you sing. Have your class imagine the squirrels are colorful and sing more verses to match the colors of the scarves they are using.
Here are the Lyrics:
Grey squirrel, grey squirrel swoosh your bushy tail.
Grey squirrel, grey squirrel swoosh your bushy tail.
Hold a nut between your toes. Wrinkle up your little nose.
Grey squirrel, grey squirrel swoosh your bushy tail.
