As we get closer to Thanksgiving, I thought you might like a free sing-along song for your preschool music classes! This is a very simple song to do and will get your students singing along with you. The song can be found in my Thanksgiving-themed lesson plan, but this song can really be used any time of the year and in pretty much any context.
If You’re Thankful and You Know It is a piggyback song of, you guessed it, If You’re Happy and You Know It.
If You’re Thankful and You Know It combines singing, movement, and encourages the creativity of your students.
Here are the lyrics:
If you’re thankful and you know it, clap your hands!
If you’re thankful and you know it, clap your hands!
If you’re thankful and you know it, and you really wanna show it
If you’re thankful and you know it, clap your hands!
Other Verses can be “if you’re thankful and you know it stomp your feet…” or “if you’re thankful and you know it say ‘I am!’…”, but feel free to invite the older children in your group to add their own verses and movements.
