Planes, trains, and automobiles! Children are fascinated by different modes of transportation, and it’s clear that they are excellent tools for classroom learning. With trains chugging along, airplanes soaring through the skies, and trucks rumbling down the road, young imaginations are transported into a world of endless excitement and adventure. The thrill of journeying from one place to another, whether in real life or through imaginative play, ignites their curiosity. It’s no wonder these vehicles inspire fantastic themes for movement-based musical activities!
If you’re looking for musical resources with transportation themes, I’ve done your work for you! I know have a bundle of four transportation-themed lesson plans that have easy to follow directions but can be tailored to your own classroom needs.

My Transportation Lesson Plan Bundle consists of 4 lesson plans, each focuses on a different mode of transport: fire trucks, buses, trains, and airplanes.

All of my lesson lesson plans are designed for movement-based preschool music classes for kids ages 0-5. All of the activities and songs are meant to encourage early developmental milestones to set kids up for success in future music learning.

I strive to keep lesson plans simple and manageable for teachers so that you don’t have to spend a lot of time learning new things or figuring out activities.

This lesson plan includes 10 activities that can easily fill a 30-minute preschool music class. It’s very flexible so you can easily rearrange the order or substitute other activities to suit your own situation.
