I’d like to share with you a fun and easy Springtime sing-along song to teach preschoolers. This song can be found in my Springtime lesson plan, but you could really use this any time of the year.
Five Flowers Tall is a piggyback song of Five Little Ducks.
Teach your students to sing this simple song. Have students hold up 5/4/3/2/1 fingers for each verse of the song. You can also substitute students’ names in place of “Jim.” You can also change the color of each flower.
Here are the lyrics:
Five flowers tall in the flower shop, (hold up hand with five fingers standing tall)
Blooming brightly, with the petals at the top.
Along came Jim (or name a child) with a dollar one day,
Bought a _____ (child names a color) flower and took it away. (put one finger down)Repeat for the remaining four fingers.
