When my husband worked at a public library, “How to Catch a Mermaid” by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton was one of the most highly circulated early childhood titles. There’s something so appealing about this whimsical story of two children who attempt (and fail) to catch a mermaid. The book contains wonderful lessons of friendship and love, and it rhymes! The illustrations are just gorgeous.
